Declaration

Source position: msegui.pas line 2708

public property twidget.frame : tcustomframe
  read getframe
  write setframe;

Description

Every widget has a frame and a face, both nil until instantiated (in the object inspector, by clicking the ellipse button next to the property; clicking it again frees them again). frame paints the area between widgetrect and paintrect: an outer bevel, a frame and an inner bevel, using framei_* to position client elements such as the space around the text in edit widgets or menu items. The client area itself is filled with colorclient, cl_transparent by default (no fill). tcustomcaptionframe additionally has a caption property to show a widget caption. face paints the background of the widget's client area: a color fade and an image, which can each be semi-transparent, and the image can be stretched and/or tiled; the fade can also be used to blend the image or the widget. Both tframe and tface have a template property: a tframecomp/tfacecomp copies its settings to the connected frame/face, except for properties flagged in localprops.
