Returns the value of field as an SQL literal, ready to be inserted into an SQL statement: NULL for a null field, a quoted and escaped string for a text field, etc. fieldtooldsql does the same with the value before modification (oldvalue), e.g. for the WHERE part of an UPDATE. The assql function of the tmse*field components gives the same result. Typical use: in tmsesqlquery.onapplyrecupdate, to build the update statement of a query on a join. For a literal in the specific syntax of the connected database, use the assql functions of the dataset's controller (tdscontroller).
